“Okay, come with me.” Yanis led Alice to the entrance.
There were a lot of people on the set. Because a costume drama was being filmed, Alice saw many actors and actresses in costume outfits when she entered the set. It was very hot in there.
They set up small fans to cool off, and some even took off their costumes and put them aside, wearing only a vest and shorts. But they wore heavy hair ornaments, they looked very funny.
Alice followed Yanis to the set.
When the assistant director saw them, he stopped them and said, “What are you doing? We’re shooting here. The fans can’t be here. Why did the guard let you in?”.
The guard came quickly. When he saw Yanis, he said, “Sir, they are not fans, they are here to look for Kate.”
“Kate? Why are they looking for her?” He asked them confused. When he saw Alice, he stared at her.
Her eyes immediately lit up.
Alice pulled down her sunglasses to cover her face.
She looked like a superstar.
“Are you…?” The guard looked at Alice and asked.
Yanis said, “Nice to meet you, sir. We are here to see Miss James. We have a job to do and we will be leaving here when we finish our work.”
“So…”
The assistant director looked suspiciously at Yanis and then glanced at Alice.
At that moment, Kate’s assistant saw Alice. Then she said, “Sir, she is a guest of Miss James.”
Then she whispered to the assistant manager a few words. Her eyes kept looking at Alice. After a while, he nodded and left.
Kate’s agent approached Alice and said, “Miss Nelson, please come with me.”
Alice nodded and followed him. Yanis muttered, “He’s acting like a snob. His attitude toward me a moment ago was worse.”
Alice smiled and said quietly, “Never mind.”
“You are not me. You couldn’t possibly understand my feelings. Why can’t I be a talented person? If I were you, I wouldn’t have to tolerate these people.”
“You?” Alice smiled and said, “I think you might make an excellent chef.”
“Don’t make fun of me. I don’t want to be a chef. Because I’m going to end up fat. You know I can’t control myself when I look at food.”
The agent soon led them to a room on the set. After opening the door, they felt a cool breeze. Alice checked to see that the air conditioning was on and there were only a few people in it.
She glanced again at those sweating on the set.
That was the case in this world. There was a big difference between these people.
It was no wonder they all wanted to be famous.
Alice followed the agent into the living room.
“Kate, Miss Nelson is here.” The agent turned to a beautiful girl and whispered to her.
She had perfect makeup on her face. When she heard the agent’s words, she turned to give Alice a look.
Kate was a very beautiful woman.
She attracted many fans because of her pretty face. But she was not good at acting.
However, Kate hated other beautiful women.
She didn’t like women who were prettier than her.
Kate thought that the designer should be an older woman. Even if she wasn’t old, she shouldn’t be beautiful.
She didn’t expect Alice to be so young and beautiful. And she looked very graceful.
She was dressed simply and wore sunglasses. But she was very attractive.
“Are you the famous designer, Shelly? You look like an ordinary person.” said Kate disdainfully and laughed.
The agent felt embarrassed. He took one look at Alice and said, “Shelly’s real name is Alice Nelson.”
“Alice? I haven’t heard her name. Is she really a well-known designer?”
“What are you talking about?” Before Alice could say anything, Yanis glared at Kate and said angrily, “She’s a famous designer. I was only late for a minute – how could you treat us like this?”
“Well, in your opinion, you weren’t late, were you? And you shouldn’t be punished. Miss, do you know how valuable my time is? If I waited one more minute for you, I’d lose a lot of money.”
“I…” Yanis was speechless.
Alice stepped forward and said, “Miss James, when we signed the contract, we made it clear that you were to cooperate with our staff. But now it seems that you don’t seem to want to cooperate with us. My assistant was late, which was her mistake. But she apologized to you. You have left her waiting in the sun for more than two hours. She has paid the price for her mistake. The two hours was her compensation.”
“You!” Kate didn’t expect me to be so aggressive. She looked very angry and said, “What did you say, how dare you compare her to me.”
Alice smiled and said, “You’re both human beings – or are you an alien?”
“Damn it!” Kate lost her temper and said loudly, “I’m an international superstar. She’s just an assistant. You can’t compare to me.”
