Chapter 176:
Charlotte stood at the door of the company with a box in her hand, waiting for Diana.
When Kennedy’s car stopped, Diana opened the car door and pushed Kennedy down. She looked at Charlotte with a smile, “Charlotte, what do you have in your hand?”.
As she finished her question, Charlotte felt a vision as if a sharp knife was falling on her body.
The cold vision of Kennedy was as horrible as a venomous snake, which made her unable to help but cringe her neck and hold the box tightly to her chest.
This action was only subliminal, but in Kennedy’s eyes, she took the box as a treasure.
She had nothing before she got into the car, but now she had a box after she got out of the car.
What did that mean?
What a thoughtful woman.
“Nothing.” Charlotte held the bag tightly and whispered,
Diana nudged Kennedy with a smile and walked over to her. Charlotte could feel Kennedy’s cold breath covering her.
She took a step back, trying to get away from the envelope of her cold breath.
“Charlotte, is that a gift from Manfred? You weren’t carrying any box when you got in the car.”
Hearing that, Charlotte’s face went pale. She wished Diana would not speak again.
So she could only direct a glance at Diana, but Diana didn’t seem to understand her meaning.
Charlotte was anxious, but she couldn’t tell.
Manfred had parked the car and approached. He answered Diana’s question with a smile.
“I asked him to help me take it to a colleague.”
“That’s right, I thought it was a gift from you.” At this talk, Diana secretly smiled and showed wry eyes. Charlotte thought Diana couldn’t understand her eyes.
Now she understood that she had done it on purpose.
Because…
Diana knew that Charlotte had slept with Manfred that night.
At the thought of this, Charlotte’s face turned pale. She turned and said, “Go in first.” Then she walked quickly away.
“What’s wrong?” asked Diana nonchalantly.
Manfred narrowed his eyes slightly, gave her a look and walked away.
When everyone was gone, Diana was about to push Kennedy forward, but Nathan rushed over.
“Miss Nelson, let me do it.”
“It’s okay.” Diana didn’t back away, but continued in situ. It looked like she still wanted to push Kennedy’s wheelchair.
Nathan didn’t let her get it and stepped forward with his tall frame directly, “No need, Miss Nelson, after all, you’re not familiar with the company way, I can do it.” With that, without waiting for Diana to react, he shoved Kennedy directly.
Diana remained in situ, staring at Nathan’s back.
She wasn’t sure if it was her illusion. She felt that Nathan seemed to be very hostile toward her. Why, was it because of Charlotte?
Nathan walked quickly, caught up with Charlotte and Manfred, and entered the elevator. When he saw Diana coming, he walked around the corner and pressed the close key.
“Oh, wait for me!” cried Diana as she saw the elevator door close.
She didn’t want to wait for that annoying woman!
Nathan inwardly scolded himself.
The next second, a petite figure rushed out of the elevator.
It was Charlotte, who hurriedly said: “You go up first, I’ll go with Diana. When the elevator door closed, Charlotte came back in front of Diana.
“Diana.”
“Charlotte……” Diana looked behind her and was disappointed when the elevator door closed.
She wanted to take an elevator with Kennedy, but it looked like there was no chance.
“I’ll take you upstairs. Let’s take the other elevator.” Charlotte took her to another elevator. As the elevator went up, Diana looked at the box in her hand and said, “Is that a gift from Manfred?”
Charlotte paused for a moment and then nodded.
“Yes.”
“Good. I said Manfred likes you. If you’re with him, you’ll be happier than you are now with Kennedy.” Diana said aloud.
Charlotte felt guilty. Hearing that, she reached up to cover Diana’s mouth.
“Walls have ears. Don’t talk nonsense.”
Diana tugged on her hand with a smile, “What are you afraid of? What I said is the truth. If it’s heard by others, you have nothing to fear…after all, the child you carry in your belly……”
“Stop!” Charlotte’s countenance took on a huge change and she sharply reprimanded Diana.
Diana’s smile froze on her face. She looked at her for a while and then looked down, “I’m sorry, Charlotte, I didn’t know it bothered you. I won’t say it again.”
As soon as he apologized, Charlotte felt she had gone too far and had to explain herself, “I didn’t want to blame you, but there are too many people in our company and I was afraid people would hear. And it might cause unnecessary problems.”
“I know.”
Diana slapped her hands together angrily, “But I did it for you. Kennedy ignored you, didn’t even give you a glance and let you sleep on the floor. I really don’t know how you can stand it.”
“I have a deal with him.” Charlotte sighed helplessly and her eyes seemed to be blurry.
“It’s been almost two months, so there’s only a few months left.”
“A few months…” Diana suddenly raised her head to remind her, “Charlotte, what are you thinking, do you really want to leave by the appointed day?”
“What’s wrong?” Actually, Charlotte didn’t know what she was thinking about, but thinking about leaving.
She seemed to be reluctant.
But she didn’t know why she was reluctant.
“What is it?” Diana was anxious, “Charlotte, in four months, your belly will be obvious, and everyone will think the child in your belly is Kennedy’s!”
Charlotte, “…Is that so?”
“I think you should quit early and stay with Manfred. I know you’ve been reluctant to say it, but I can do it for you!”
As the elevator arrived, Diana ran in, which startled Charlotte. She went up to stop Diana , “Diana, don’t be impulsive, we need to think this through.”
“What, I can wait, he can wait, but the child in your womb can’t wait. Charlotte, why do you keep rejecting my advice, aren’t you willing to leave Kennedy? You like him, don’t you?”
