Chapter 62:
Charlotte didn’t stay too long in the hospital.
After the doctor came in for a checkup, Charlotte made sure she was okay and then proposed that she wanted to be discharged. The doctor frowned, “My suggestion is that you stay in the hospital for two more days for observation, after all, your physical quality is very poor.”
“Doctor, I am very well, can I be discharged today?”. Charlotte insisted, and the doctor knew there was nothing wrong with her, so he urged her not to drink any more alcohol in the future before accepting her discharge request.
Diana borrowed money from him before going to process the discharge. Diana knew her situation and told her that she did not have to pay it back. Although Diana said so, Charlotte did not want to accept her money in exchange for anything. She remembered how much she had loaned her and intended to pay it back when she received her paycheck.
After being discharged from the hospital, Charlotte went home and cleaned up a bit, then took the money she had left from the hospital bill and bought herself two new sets of clothes and put them on before going to work.
When she arrived at her workplace, Charlotte looked at the time and, although she was running late, she sat down at her station and started working. She had not finished the materials she had earlier. Charlotte sat down and organized for about half an hour.
Nathan exited the elevator expressionless, walked past Charlotte’s workstation without looking at her and hurried to the door, then looked at Charlotte. “Assistant Wilson?” How could she, who should still be at the hospital at that moment, suddenly appear at the company? Nathan rubbed his eyes.
Charlotte didn’t look up, but stared at the material in her hands.
Nathan, “Assistant Wilson, why are you here?” This reaction was too bland, wasn’t it?
Charlotte replied, “This is my place of business, is there something strange about me being here?”
“I mean, aren’t you supposed to be in the hospital?”
“I’ve discharged myself from the hospital.”
“You’re going in to get Mr. Kennedy, aren’t you? Help me give him these materials, I don’t have time.” After saying that, Charlotte handed the collated materials to Nathan, who had to reach out to take them, then nodded. After entering the office, Nathan finished his report and then pulled out the material Charlotte handed him.
“Mr. Kennedy, this is the material that Asst. Wilson asked me to give you.”
Hearing that, Kennedy raised his head, “What did you say?”
“It’s strange, isn’t it? Asst. Wilson should still be in the hospital right now, but when I came to her office just now, I saw that she was back to work. Mr. Kennedy, if there’s nothing else, I’ll leave first.”
After Nathan left, Kennedy clenched his pen tightly and his eyebrows furrowed. Shouldn’t this damn woman still be in the hospital? Why did she leave? She put down the pen and rolled her wheelchair.
Charlotte typed the last line, put the sheet away and pressed ‘print’. When she wanted to get up, she heard an icy voice. “Why have you left the hospital?”
“Nothing serious?” Kennedy narrowed her eyes and the aura in her body suddenly became suddenly hard. “Didn’t the doctor ask you to be hospitalized for two days for observation? What’s wrong with your ears?”
Charlotte bit her lower lip and clenched her fist, “Mr. Kennedy, don’t say harsh words. I was discharged with application, and the doctor agreed, then it means I have no physical problems.”
Kennedy pursed his thin lips tightly and gave a sneer. “True, you are a scheming woman. Maybe your illness was fake, how could you let anything happen to you?”
Saying the words, Kennedy didn’t care about Charlotte’s reaction, she directly turned around and left in the wheelchair. Her words made Charlotte angry, but something in her heart tugged at her, she clenched her fist and chased after him. “Since you think I pretended to be sick, then why did you take me to the hospital?”
Kennedy’s movement stopped. He narrowed his eyes and said coldly, “If you want to die, don’t stand in front of the company, I won’t even look at you.”
Charlotte: …… Charlotte bit her broken lower lip. Kennedy walked away,
Charlotte was so angry her shoulders were shaking. Forget it, she knew what he was and no longer had any expectations of him.
Charlotte calmly reached out and pulled out the printed material, then put it in a folder. Diana called her at the end of the day saying she was coming over with chicken soup. Charlotte thought Diana was very considerate, and figured it was almost time to leave work, so there should be no problem getting her upstairs. So she drove Diana to her place of work.
“I wasn’t expecting you to be able to come to the Moore Group one day.”
“What?”
“Moore Group is famous in B-town, ordinary people don’t have the opportunity to come here, including my brother. After all, the two companies don’t cooperate, but I am here because of you.”
Diana hugged his arm and said happily.
“By the way, this is the chicken soup I asked our cook to prepare for you. She told me it’s good for pregnant women. It has a lot of ingredients in it. She knows it well, so you can have it.” After saying that, Diana opened the thermos bucket and poured a bowl for Charlotte.
Instantly, the thick aroma of chicken soup filled the surroundings. Charlotte was drawn in and took a few sips. “Diana, thank you.”
“No need to be so polite, we’re friends. By the way, where is Mr. Kennedy’s office?” Diana rubbed her hands together and said with a smile, “May I come over for a visit?”
Hearing that, Charlotte showed an expression of difficulty. Visit Kennedy’s office? She was bold. Charlotte wrinkled her eyebrows, “Diana, this may not work. Your temper is not good, if you know that, it may……”
“Don’t be afraid. I’m not going to throw you down. Drink slowly, I’ll go find out for myself.” After saying that, Diana hurried out.
For a moment, Charlotte was so nervous that she didn’t even dare to drink the chicken soup, she put down the bowl and ran out. Diana walked quickly and soon reached the office door, then pressed herself against the door to sneak a peek at Kennedy inside.
