Chapter 929:
“I’m afraid only God knows the answer to that question,” Joey said with a smile.
I shook my head and smiled back. We soon arrived at the downtown area. Joey pointed to a well-known store not far away and said, “You can’t be careless with the shoes you wear when you get married. The shoes in that store are very high-end. Why don’t you go take a look?”
“Okay,” I nodded. A few minutes later, Joey and I entered the upscale store, which was decorated with high-end fashion.
“Miss, what would you like to see?”
A young lady in a black uniform with a store manager’s nametag on her chest asked with a warm smile.
I thought for a moment and said, “I want to buy a pair of shoes that would suit my wedding dress. It should be silver, high-heeled, and more glamorous.”
The manager nodded and replied, “We’ve just ordered two sets of shoes that fit your description. Would you like me to bring them out for you to try on?”
Bella’s POV:
The manager quickly shouted inside, “Hurry up and bring the new pair of diamond-studded shoes for this lady to try on.”
I turned around and sat on a shoe stool, listening to the manager’s introduction.
“These two pairs of shoes are limited edition. There are only two pairs of each in A City. Of course, the price is not cheap. Wearing them with a wedding dress will make you look fabulous!”
At that moment, a saleslady in a black dress and white shirt came out, her head down, carrying two pairs of shoes in her arms.
The manager quickly instructed the saleslady, “Open them and let this lady try them on.”
The saleslady stepped forward, knelt on one knee, opened one of the shoe boxes, and carefully took out a pair of exquisite high heels under the light. She helped me remove my shoes and gently placed the new ones on my feet.
Joey and I were both stunned when we saw the shoes on my feet.
The shoes were indeed part of the new limited edition. The design was stunning, with delicate water diamonds inlaid, reminiscent of Cinderella’s crystal slippers, as if they were specifically crafted to match a wedding dress. The saleslady, still kneeling, glanced at the shoes on my feet, then looked up and praised, “Miss, these shoes were made for you. You…”
Before the saleslady could finish her sentence, she fell silent.
At that moment, I looked up at the saleslady’s face and froze.
I couldn’t believe it — the person who had just changed my shoes was none other than Emma!
I hadn’t expected her to be working here. Though she had makeup on, it was much lighter than before, and she wore the store’s uniform. I could hardly imagine that the person in front of me was the same Emma who had been so arrogant just days ago.
Joey, noticing Emma too, was equally shocked. After a moment of disbelief, she crossed her arms and sneered, “Isn’t this Emma? Why are you selling shoes now? Am I seeing things?”
