Chapter 922:
Noticing that he was still struggling a bit, I smiled and walked over.
“Let me do it,” I offered.
Herbert lowered his hands, and I carefully began to tie his tie.
As I focused on the task, a pair of hands slid around my waist. I gently said, “Stop fooling around!”
“Who’s fooling around?” Herbert asked, lowering his eyebrows playfully.
Soon, I finished tying the tie, took a step back to assess it, and then moved forward to adjust it.
But Herbert held my waist and sighed, “If it weren’t for that stinky boy last night, we would have been much happier!”
I blushed and quickly warned him, “It’s not the first time. Remember to lock the door next time. I was almost scared to death!”
“I was scared out of my wits too,” Herbert murmured with a half-smile.
At that, I covered my mouth and laughed.
“Really?” he asked, stepping closer and pulling me into his arms. He lowered his head and whispered in my ear, “Why don’t we try again?”
“You’re so annoying!” I pushed him away.
“Get ready and go downstairs. It’s time to work.”
Herbert smiled at me, turned, and put on his suit.
I walked to the side of the bed and noticed the condoms scattered across the sheets. I couldn’t help but frown.
“Why didn’t you put these away?” I said.
“Miranda will be here to clean this morning. Hurry up and put them away!”
“I’ll pack it up right away.”
Herbert walked over to the bed and began picking up the condoms. A minute later, we had gathered all the condoms on the bed. Herbert placed the ones he had picked up into my hand. As I was about to set them on the bedside table, I couldn’t help but glance at the condoms and say in surprise, “Wait a minute. You bought 12 yesterday, and you opened one, so there should be 11 left. Why are there only 10 now?”
Hearing this, Herbert lowered his head and counted the condoms in my hand. He seemed puzzled as well.
“You’re right. One is missing. It must have fallen somewhere else.”
We turned the bed upside down, searching everywhere, but we couldn’t find the missing condom. Finally, I sat on the edge of the bed, feeling exhausted. I muttered to myself, “How could it be missing? It didn’t just run away on its own, did it?”
Herbert looked around suspiciously, but there was no sign of it. He scratched his head and sat down beside me, saying, “Fortunately, I didn’t go anywhere last night. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to explain it!”
“Is there anything you can’t explain?” I asked with a frown.
“You women always jump to conclusions. Maybe you think I took one and used it with someone else,” Herbert teased.
