Chapter 866:
Connor hurriedly picked up the briefcase he had just placed on the table.
“I’ll send you off.”
I followed Herbert.
When Herbert walked to the door, he suddenly stopped, turned around, and took a mobile phone out of his suit pocket. He handed it to me and said, “I was busy with something else just now and forgot about it. You left your phone on the back seat of the car, and I came to return it to you.”
Hearing this, my face turned red!
What did he mean by “he was busy with something else just now”? Wasn’t he just telling everyone about how intimate we were in the office?
I looked up quickly, glancing at Connor, Amy, and Joey, who were standing nearby. They all lowered their heads, pretending not to hear anything.
At this moment, I glared at Herbert, then reached out to take my cell phone.
It turned out he came here just to return my phone, but along the way, he had encountered Ryan, who was causing trouble.
As I reached for the phone, Herbert even took the opportunity to touch my hand.
With a smile, he said, “I’m leaving. I’ll pick you up at night!”
Before I could respond, Herbert turned and left, followed by Connor. After they left, I looked down at the phone in my hand and curled my lips.
Then I turned around and saw Joey standing there, dazed, with a wet towel in her hand. I stepped forward and nudged her.
“Hey, what are you thinking about?”
“No… nothing.”
Joey said, then went to the tea room with the towel. I felt something was off with her, so I followed after her.
Bella’s POV:
I walked over to Joey, who was washing a towel in front of the sink. She looked at me from head to toe and said, “Wait a minute. Why are you blushing?”
“Nonsense, how can I be blushing?” I replied, trying to brush it off.
Hearing this, Joey immediately threw the towel in her hand aside and explained eagerly.
Seeing her reaction, I crossed my arms in front of my chest, tilted my head, and said, “Something’s wrong with you today. Oh, I got it. Do you have a good impression of Connor?”
I remembered now—Joey had only interacted with Connor just before. Could it be…?
At that, Joey flew into a rage.
“Hey, what did you and Herbert… do in the office just now?”
I put down my arms, not daring to look directly into Joey’s eyes.
“I… What could we do? We were just talking.”
Joey continued, “We heard a scream coming from inside, and then there was no sound. Even a fool knows what you two were doing in there. Although this is an open society, you’d better consider how the rest of us feel. And in the office, no less.”
