Chapter 741:
I had no strength left. It felt like a nightmare.
But to him, it seemed as though he had only just begun.
The bed shook beneath us, and suddenly, the door swung open. A small figure ran in, shouting,
“Daddy, mommy!”
The sudden appearance of Lucas gave me a fright. I froze for a moment, and Herbert quickly got off me and pulled the quilt up.
“Daddy, mommy, what game are you playing?”
Lucas stood by the bed, and the atmosphere immediately became awkward.
Bella’s POV:
Seeing my son’s big, round eyes staring at us, I covered my face, too embarrassed to say a word. Lucas was just a child, and it was completely inappropriate for him to see Herbert and me in such a compromising situation. The only saving grace was that we were covered by blankets and not completely exposed on the bed.
Herbert, however, seemed unfazed. He rolled his eyes and casually explained, “Mommy isn’t being obedient. I’m teaching her a lesson.”
Hearing this, Lucas immediately nodded as if he understood.
“Is it because Mommy got drunk last night?”
“Yes!” Herbert quickly agreed, playing along.
At that moment, Lucas chimed in enthusiastically, “Daddy, women really need to be taught a lesson when they come home after drinking too much. You can keep teaching Mommy. I’ll go downstairs and teach my sister a lesson. She cried last night and didn’t eat well. I have to teach her a good lesson too!”
With that, Lucas turned around and left, closing the door behind him. Herbert burst into laughter, lying back on the bed, clearly amused by the whole situation.
“Herbert, why didn’t you lock the door last night?” I scolded him once Lucas was gone.
“I never lock the door when I sleep,” Herbert replied, still chuckling. I couldn’t help but feel a little frustrated.
Before I could say anything else, he suddenly pulled me back onto the bed.
“What are you doing?” I protested, trying to push him away.
Herbert grinned cheekily.
“Lucas told me to continue teaching you a lesson.”
“You’re so annoying! Let me go,” I insisted, pushing against his chest, but it was no use.
Just then, there was a knock at the door. Lucas’s voice called out, “Daddy, Mommy, Miranda asked me to come and call you for breakfast.”
Hearing this, I finally breathed a sigh of relief. It was over—for now.
Herbert frowned slightly but called back, “You go downstairs first. We’ll be down after we wash up.”
“Oh.”
Lucas quickly nodded and left.
