Chapter 725:
When work ended at noon, I grabbed my bag and walked out of the office. Linia stepped forward, smiling.
“Bella, I’m heading out to buy lunch. Would you like me to get something for you?”
“Thank you, but no need. I have a date with a friend,” I said with a smile.
At that moment, a group of female colleagues from the office laughed and teased,
“Linia, Bella’s boyfriend must have asked her out for lunch. Can’t you see that?”
“Ah, so that’s why Bella’s been looking extra beautiful these past few days.”
Hearing their teasing, I walked out of the office of Group Six with a smile.
Ever since the incident involving Selina and Jeremy had been exposed, I felt like I had become much more popular in the office. Of course, some of it was due to my promotion to Group Leader, but I liked to think it had more to do with people realizing the false rumors Linia and Jeremy had spread about me. Now, they were starting to distance themselves from me.
As soon as I walked out of the office, Linia chased after me.
“Bella, Bella!”
“Linia, what’s the matter?” I asked as I pressed the elevator button.
Linia entered the elevator with me and said, smiling, “Bella, my colleagues asked me to talk to you.”

She looked serious, a little hesitant. I frowned and asked, “Just say what you want to say. Don’t hold back.”
At my words, Linia quickly responded, “Bella, I know you’re a broad-minded person, and you wouldn’t mind what we did in the past. We listened to what others said, and we misunderstood you. Now we know we shouldn’t have judged you. I’m sorry!”
I didn’t expect the people in Group Six to send Linia to apologize to me. Honestly, I wanted to integrate with my colleagues as soon as possible, and this would help with my work moving forward. Of course, I didn’t take the past to heart. After all, these people had just listened to others and alienated me. They hadn’t actually done anything to hurt me. I patted Linia’s shoulder with a smile and said, “Don’t worry, I didn’t take it to heart. We’ll work hard together from now on and can be good friends in private.”
“Okay, okay,” Linia nodded repeatedly.
Then, the elevator arrived. Linia smiled and waved at me.
“Bella, enjoy your date! I’ll go buy lunch now.”
I couldn’t help but smile as I watched Linia’s chubby figure run off. Walking out of the office building, I looked up at the clear blue sky. In a good mood, I happily hummed a tune.
As I stepped down the stairs, a black luxury car smoothly pulled up in front of me. Connor quickly got out of the driver’s seat and opened the back door for me. Once inside the car, Herbert glanced at my smiling face and couldn’t help but ask, “You seem to be in a good mood today.”
“I’m happy to see you,” I said with a smile. Herbert looked at me skeptically.
