Chapter 664:
However, Linda interrupted me.
“Bella, I know how you’re feeling right now, but I can’t just blindly believe you. All the evidence is pointing at you. You can only prove your innocence with solid evidence!”
I fell silent.
At that moment, I couldn’t come up with any evidence. I had poured all my energy into my work over the past few days.
Linda continued, “I’ve already reported what happened to the general manager. In your current situation, it’s not suitable for you to continue working here.”
“Are you going to fire me?” I shouted, my frustration spilling over.
I could leave the company. But it couldn’t be now.
If I left now, it would mean admitting to those terrible accusations.
Linda raised her hand, signaling for me to calm down.
“It’s not that you’re being fired. You’ll be suspended from your duties for now. Once the truth comes out, we’ll make a final decision.”
I breathed a sigh of relief.
Linda softened her tone.
“I think you need to calm down. Go back and see if you can find any evidence to prove your innocence. Besides, staying here will only increase your psychological pressure. Don’t you think so?”
“Yes,” I nodded, grateful for her understanding.
A few minutes later, I left Linda’s office.
I returned to my office, quickly tidied up my things, and grabbed my bag, ready to leave.
Just then, the door to Selina’s office opened, and she walked out, swaying in high heels.
Her gaze was filled with a mix of schadenfreude and superiority, and I knew she was here to humiliate me.
Sure enough, Selina strutted toward me, crossing her arms over her chest as she said sarcastically, “Bella, Linda said you’re suspended. I guess you won’t be coming back here. You’d better take everything with you, so you don’t have to keep coming back!”
Her eyes were full of contempt, and I could feel my anger rising.
But I knew the angrier I got, the more she would enjoy it.
Therefore, I wouldn’t fall for her trick. I sneered and said, “I’m just suspended from work, not fired. I’ll definitely come back!”
With that, I turned around and walked out the door.
Once outside the company, my mood grew heavier. I really had no way of solving this problem. I had no evidence to prove my innocence.
At that moment, I saw a black car approaching in the distance.
It was the black Bentley. Herbert was here again!
