Chapter 605:
After leaving Herbert, I walked over to Joey, who had been watching Daniel Morgan.
“Daniel Morgan and Connie haven’t been separated for a second. What should we do?” Joey asked with a frown.
“We can only wait for the right opportunity,” I replied. Joey looked at me, then glanced behind me, and smiled.
“I guess Herbert must be jealous.”
I shot her a glance.
“I have nothing to do with Herbert now. Why should he be jealous?”
“You have two children, and your relationship is much closer than that of ordinary people,” Joey said.
“I don’t want to have any relationship with him. Don’t talk nonsense,” I replied.
Joey shook her glass and smiled.
“Even if you don’t want to, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to! Herbert’s eyes show that he’s sometimes jealous, sometimes angry, but he still cares about you.”
“Well, don’t forget our main purpose today. Hurry up and find a way to lure Connie away. The auction is about to begin, and at that point, we’ll have no chance,” I said anxiously.
Suddenly, Joey gave me a little push.

“That bald old man seems to be heading to the bathroom. I’m going to entangle Connie. Hurry up and find an opportunity to get close to her!”
“Okay,” I nodded, then looked for Daniel Morgan, who was walking toward the emergency exit, and followed him. Joey, on the other hand, headed in Connie’s direction. She spilled her red wine on her expensive clothes, and Connie immediately screamed. Joey quickly apologized and took her away. Joey would definitely stall for some time.
My chance had arrived.
I waited outside the men’s restroom, anxiously. About five minutes later, Daniel Morgan came out. I immediately approached him. Although I smiled, my tone was hurried as I said, “Mr. Morgan, I’m the accountant from the accounting firm, Bella. I have something important to discuss with you. Can you give me five minutes?”
Daniel Morgan looked displeased.
“Miss Stepanek, I’m here for the charity party tonight. I don’t want to talk about anything work-related. I’m sorry.”
He started to walk away, but I stopped him.
“What do you want to do?” Daniel Morgan asked, clearly irritated.
I immediately bowed and said, “I’m sorry, Mr. Morgan. I really don’t have any other way out, so I came to ask for five minutes of your time. This matter is very important for K.G. Software Company.”
Daniel Morgan said sternly, “Madam, you’re forcing me to listen to you. I will not be forced by anyone.”
“So leave now,” he added, sounding frustrated.
