Chapter 593:
“Maybe she’s the one who won the boss’s favor in bed?”
Bella’s POV:
Hearing the words of the two female employees, I understood. No wonder all the female employees in the office were unwilling to approach me. It turned out to be because of Selina. She was really insidious. She had spread rumors to the employees. Her intention was obviously to get everyone to push me away so that I couldn’t stay here any longer. Maybe it wasn’t just because she wanted me to leave the company, but because she wanted to make it impossible for me to survive in this environment.
Thinking of this, I clenched the tissue in my hand. Jeremy had been constantly harassing me, and I suspected it had something to do with Selina. At this moment, I hated her deeply and blamed myself a little. When I saw that she was the leader of Group Six, I should have turned around and left right then. That way, I wouldn’t be in such an embarrassing situation now.
But it was too late to regret. At this point, I could only face things calmly. I knew my current situation was difficult. Selina was going to achieve her goal soon: I wouldn’t become a permanent staff member, I’d continue to be harassed by Jeremy, and I’d be rejected by all my colleagues in the office.
In that moment, I really wanted to storm into Selina’s office and confront her.
But after some thought, I knew I couldn’t act impulsively. Right now, I didn’t have any evidence to prove Selina’s involvement. I couldn’t let myself fall deeper into this desperate situation. After struggling for a moment, I realized life had to continue, and the days would go on. So, I washed my face in front of the sink and went back to the office, trying to hold my head high.
As soon as I entered, the women in the office who had been talking and laughing immediately stopped and returned to their seats. After cleaning up the tea room, Jeremy sat at his desk reading a magazine. I returned to my seat and pulled out a professional book to read. In truth, I wasn’t really reading. How could I focus on a book in this atmosphere? The air in this office felt suffocating, and I wanted to leave as quickly as possible. I didn’t want to stay for a minute longer, but I couldn’t bring myself to just walk away. After all, I had always been stubborn since I was a child.
At that moment, the door to Selina’s office opened.
“Bella, come in!” she called.
Without thinking, I stood up and walked into Selina’s office.
She tossed a stack of materials onto her desk as I approached.
Looking down, I saw that it was the project material I had given to her just two hours ago. I was confused until she spoke, “The person in charge of this project has just come. He’s not satisfied with your work!”
Bella’s POV:
Hearing this, I frowned, but it was within my expectations. I reached out and picked up the materials. Then, Selina added, “It’s the weekend today. Please make the necessary amendments before Monday. Afterward, I’ll send it to the person in charge of the company. This is your last chance. If they’re still not satisfied, I’ll have to assign the case to someone else.”
I knew that no matter how many times I modified the case, the client wouldn’t be satisfied. If Selina wanted someone else to handle it, I doubted anyone would want to take it. It seemed like just another excuse. It appeared that once the project was rejected next Monday, I’d be out of here.
“Is there any other problem?” Selina asked impatiently. I stared at her but didn’t say anything.
