Chapter 591:
“Bitch! How dare you scratch me!” Jeremy shouted.
“I’ll show you how powerful I am!”
He pushed aside the female colleague standing in front of him and took a step forward, ready to strike me. But I was prepared. If he hit me, I would fight back. I wasn’t going to let him bully me any longer. I wasn’t staying in this company, and I wouldn’t tolerate this trash any more.
Just as I was about to strike him back, a voice came from behind me, stopping me in my tracks.
“What are you doing?”
Everyone turned around, and there stood Selina in the doorway. At the sight of her, the room fell silent. Everyone moved aside, and no one dared speak. I knew Selina wouldn’t help me, even if Jeremy slapped me, but at least she would prevent him from hitting me here.
Bella’s POV:
“This is a place of work, not a place for fighting. If you want to fight, get the hell out of here!” Selina berated. No one dared to speak further.
At this point, Jeremy stepped forward, pointing to the two scratches on his face.
“She seduced me. I didn’t agree, so she scratched me like this!”
“Nonsense! It’s obvious that you tried to harass me…” I immediately argued. Even though I knew Selina wouldn’t help me, I had to clarify the situation.
“Why don’t you take a look at yourself in the mirror? Do you really think I would take advantage of you? My wife is very beautiful. Why would I harass you?” Jeremy replied.
Selina then interjected, “Shut up, both of you!”
With that command, the room fell silent. No one dared to speak.
“I don’t care about your personal issues. That’s none of my business. This is the company. You must follow the rules here. Do your job and stop causing trouble. If anyone dares to create more issues, get out immediately. Do you understand?”
“Understood,” Jeremy nodded, and I stayed silent, though I was still seething with anger.
Then, Selina pointed to the mess on the floor and said, “Whoever made this mess will clean it up.”
With that, she turned and left. The crowd began to disperse. Jeremy glanced at me before turning to leave, but I quickly stepped in front of him, blocking his way. Selina hadn’t walked too far, so Jeremy’s face twisted in frustration.
“Sis, can you calm down a little? Otherwise, we could all lose our jobs,” he said, trying to act reasonable.
At that moment, I could tell he was scared of losing his job. Confidence surged within me. I said, “Jeremy, I’m still in my probation period. You’re different. You’re a permanent employee, and now you’re Jessica’s assistant. Your salary and benefits are good, aren’t they?”
“What do you mean?” Jeremy’s face paled slightly at my words. Seeing his reaction, I crossed my arms over my chest.
“I’m wondering, if we both lose our jobs because of this, do you think it will be your loss or mine?”
