Bride of Mr. Billion – Chapter 395

Bride of Mr. Billion - Chapter 395

Chapter 396:

“What? Pay for dry cleaning? You bumped into me! You should take responsibility!” Emma shouted at me.

I sighed, clearly impatient.

“If you don’t want to, you can call the police or sue me in court.”

Emma grabbed my arm, yelling, “This woman dirtied my dress and now she wants to leave without paying!”

A crowd began to gather around us, and I felt incredibly self-conscious in the quiet cafe.

“Do I really have to cooperate with you on this blackmail?” I shot back.

Without missing a beat, Emma pulled a receipt from her bag and showed it to the onlookers.

“I bought this Chanel dress yesterday. Here’s the receipt. See for yourself, it’s $6,000. Can I really afford to blackmail you when I’m wearing a $6,000 dress?”

She threw the receipt at me. It rolled down my body and dropped to the floor. My face flushed with embarrassment, and frustration boiled inside me as Emma continued her taunting.

“I know your job is unstable. Herbert doesn’t want you anymore, does he? He didn’t give you much when you broke up, did he? If you can’t afford this dress, I won’t make things difficult for you. But if you kneel and apologize now, I won’t pursue this further.”

I glared at Emma, my fists clenched. A smug smile appeared on her face, and I knew this was all just a scheme to embarrass me. I wanted to throw money at her and tell her to leave, but I didn’t have enough. I only had $5,000 on my bank card and a bit of cash in my wallet, adding up to a total of $6,000. And to be honest, I wasn’t entirely at fault here. I was willing to pay for the dry cleaning, but Emma wanted me to cover the entire price of her dress.

“Madam, if you can’t afford it, just apologize,” someone from the crowd suggested.

“What a terrible attitude if you don’t have the money,” another person added.

Some urged me to apologize, while others blamed me.

“Have you made up your mind? I’m very busy and don’t want to waste any more time on you. If you don’t kneel and apologize now, it won’t matter even if you beg me later,” Emma continued, her voice dripping with superiority.

Her voice was filled with malice. Of course, I wasn’t going to pay, let alone kneel and apologize. It was obvious that she was deliberately looking for a fight with me. Since she wanted trouble, I wasn’t going to let her have it easy. I was ready to stand my ground. I clenched my fists, prepared to fight back.

“What are you doing?” Emma stepped back.

Just as I was about to raise my hand, a strong hand suddenly grabbed my wrist. Frowning, I turned my head to find that it was Klein holding me back.

“I just wanted him not to stop me,” I thought.

Klein was the first to speak, his voice calm.

“What happened?”

The waiter, who had been watching, quickly intervened.
