Chapter 375:
Herbert was holding my phone in his hand, and I saw Klein’s name on the screen.
Herbert was going through my phone, and I quickly reached out to grab it back.
“Give me back my phone!”
I shouted, fear creeping into my voice. I was terrified that he would see my messages with Klein. Even though there was nothing ambiguous between us, Herbert’s temper was unpredictable, and I knew he would explode. Besides, it was my phone—what right did he have to take it from me? How dare he violate my privacy?
As expected, after reading through my messages, he lifted the phone and glared at me.
“So you bought these men’s clothes and shoes for him?”
I grabbed my shirt, pulling it over my chest as I snapped, “It’s my choice who I buy things for! What does it have to do with you?”
Herbert suddenly threw the phone aside, seized my wrist, and demanded, “Tell me, how far have you and Klein gone? Why are you buying him clothes and shoes? Have you… slept with him?”
His accusation made my blood boil. My heart pounded with rage as I yelled, “Herbert, there is nothing between us! You have no right to question me about my relationships with other men!”
The veins on his forehead bulged, his grip tightening painfully around my wrist. His voice was thunderous as he pressed, “So there is something between you two? Tell me the truth!”
He was like an enraged lion, but I was just as stubborn. The more he tried to dominate me, the more I wanted to resist—to hurt him with my words.
“Yes! I slept with Klein! What can you do about it?” I screamed at him, my fury completely blinding me.
“He’s a hundred times better than you! A thousand times! Ten thousand times!”
Herbert’s expression darkened, his brows furrowing. His entire presence became menacing.
A sudden chill ran down my spine, and I instinctively stepped back.
“How is he better than me? Tell me!”
In an instant, his hand shot forward, gripping my throat.
Bella’s POV:
I gasped for air, my throat burning from his grip.
In the end, I stopped struggling. I knew it was pointless. The car moved steadily through the dimly lit streets, the only sound filling the silence was his heavy breathing. I bit my lip, refusing to make a sound, but he only became rougher, as if determined to break my defiance.
I hated Herbert even more. I refused to yield.
More than an hour later, he finally stopped.
The black car came to a halt at the side of the road. Without a word, he stepped out. My clothes were torn, so I had no choice but to put on the ones I had bought for Klein.
As soon as I was dressed, I bolted from the car. My eyes burned with fury as I glared at Herbert, who stood a short distance away. But in the end, I did nothing. I simply turned and ran.
