Chapter 53:
When we arrived at the guest room, Allie was waiting at the door. I went inside to pack.
Joey pulled me aside and whispered, “I always feel like there’s more to this than meets the eye.”
“Why do you think that?” I frowned.
Joey chuckled and said, “Does the boss want you to sleep with him?”
“You’re so annoying! You think too much,” I pushed her playfully.
“Well, I think my guess is becoming more accurate,” Joey said confidently.
I bid her farewell and left with Allie, taking my suitcase with me. As soon as I stepped into the door of the VIP area, I was taken aback by the scene. Under the soft moonlight, there was a vast field of tulips swaying gently in the breeze.
I inhaled the faint fragrance, and noticed a white lily tree not far off. It was elegant and pure, giving the place an almost ethereal feel. There were also hot springs and swimming pools that added to the beauty of the place. Behind the pool and the hot spring were several exquisite, unique villas. Allie led me into one of them.
The villa’s interior was incredibly luxurious. I had never stayed in a place so high-end, and I couldn’t help but look around in awe. The attention to detail and wealth was evident in every corner. Even the decor was meticulously chosen.
Allie guided me into a large bedroom. The bed was massive, and the crystal chandelier cast a soft glow over the dark blue embroidered carpet. Everything was impeccable and high-class.
“Is this… your room?” I asked tentatively, feeling a bit out of place.
“There are no two single beds in here. Does she expect me to sleep in the same bed?” I thought, feeling a bit strange.
“No, this is Mr. Wharton’s room,” Allie replied immediately.
Bella’s POV:
Was this really his room? Did he really ask Allie to bring me here? So it wasn’t just because of Allie?
At this moment, Allie explained, “I’m sorry, Mrs. Wharton. There were so many people just now, so I had to lie. It was Mr. Wharton who asked me to bring you here.”
Mrs. Wharton? It seemed Allie had known about the relationship between me and Herbert all along. It seemed Joey’s guess had been right—everything had been arranged by Herbert.
“There’s a hot spring outside. You can go enjoy it. If you need anything, you can call customer service directly. I’ll leave now,” Allie said politely, preparing to leave the room.
“Wait…” I stopped her.
“Do you have any other orders?” Allie asked, pausing in her tracks.
“Er… Where is he?” I asked, looking around to see if Herbert was nearby.
“Mr. Wharton is in the hot spring,” Allie replied with her usual politeness before leaving the room.
Once Allie was gone, I tried sitting on the big bed. The mattress was firm yet comfortable. I walked to the window, gazing out at the night scene outside. I watched for a while, but still, no sign of Herbert.
I was feeling a little tired, so I decided to take a shower. More than ten minutes later, I stood in front of the mirror, drying my hair. But before I could apply my skincare, the door suddenly swung open!
I looked up and saw Herbert standing in the doorway, wearing a night robe, his hair wet from the hot spring. It seemed he had just returned. I quickly adjusted my bathrobe and forced a smile.
