Chapter 287:
Like nothing had even happened.
I stood there, my eyes still glued to the door in disbelief.
“What the hell just happened?” I whispered to myself.
Unknown
Rosa tossed restlessly in her sleep, murmuring words that were inaudible. Her face twisted in discomfort as an unsettling feeling took hold of her. It was surreal—an unnerving sensation that sent a wave of fear through her. As she became more conscious, she remained still on the bed, holding onto her sleeping posture.
Her heart raced, and her breath became shaky. Anxiety gripped her, but she stayed motionless. Though her eyes were tightly shut, she could sense a strange presence in the room. Confusion overwhelmed her as she remembered locking the door twice the previous night.
Since Ray’s unexpected arrival, she had taken extra precautions, increasing the number of guards and doubling the locks to ensure her safety. It was something she had never done before. Yet, somehow, the goddess knew how he managed to sneak through, despite the heavy security.
Could it be him? Or was it Ivy’s ghost, watching her from the shadows? She pushed the thought aside.
The only person who could bypass her security was Damon. A small smile formed on her lips as relief flooded her. Finally, she could have him as her breakfast. She missed his torturous touch.
But her brief moment of happiness was shattered when a scent reached her nose. Damon wasn’t known for carrying a faint aura. His presence was marked by power, death, and danger—an aura that forced even the strongest to submit to him without hesitation. Who could it be?

Frustrated by the silence, Rosa hesitated for a moment before slowly opening her eyes. Her vision was blurry at first, but after blinking a few times, her sight sharpened. Still, no one was in sight.
Her brows furrowed in confusion as she tried to make sense of the situation. Surely, she wasn’t overreacting. She was certain she felt another presence in the room. Just as she was about to pull the duvet over herself, fear causing her blood to run cold, her hand brushed against something.
Something?
Rosa froze in shock when her skin made contact with another. The warmth and the hairiness of it gave it away. Fear flooded her, and shivers ran down her spine. It took all her strength to move after being nearly paralyzed by terror.
Turning her head to look at the object that grazed her skin, she screamed in horror and jumped out of bed.
Shaking, she didn’t bother to tie the belt of her robe, which had loosened, leaving her exposed before the stranger. In an instant, anger replaced the shock she felt, her glare filled with raw hatred and disgust.
“Ray?!” she yelled, gritting her teeth as her blood began to boil. Her eyes flashed with fury as she saw Ray Stark lying naked on the bed, his hands stroking his hardened arousal.
Rosa’s anger intensified as she saw his body react to her presence, his gaze hungry and predatory, as if he was stalking his prey, ready to consume it.
Fear crept into Rosa’s heart, but she understood the meaning behind his actions, even without him saying a word. The thought of his intentions drove her mad, fueling her desire for revenge.
