Chapter 156:
“Fuck!” I heard Damon groan in frustration as he reluctantly fastened his trousers.
“What do you want?” he growled, his voice low with irritation.
I could feel the tension in the air.
Jasper’s face twisted into a sneer, his eyes never leaving Damon’s with a mix of anger and amusement.
Mortification flooded me, and I wished the ground would open up and swallow me whole as Jasper’s eyes flickered back and forth between Damon and me.
Fuck!
Goddess, I hated Jasper!
Why did he have to show up now? Why ruin this moment?
Just moments ago, I wouldn’t have even considered this with Damon, knowing that I was his breeder. But on second thought, in eight months, my life would be over. It seemed better to make use of my little time.
A little sex wouldn’t hurt—besides, I had Damon all to myself.
Thanks to Jasper for showing up at the worst possible time.
“How did you know I was here?” Damon groaned, casting an angry glare at Jasper.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Jasper fighting hard not to laugh.
He was careful not to provoke Damon further, but deep down, I knew he relished in ruining our moment.
“Fucking answer me!” Damon half-screamed in frustration.
“To which question?” Jasper asked, arching an eyebrow.
“How did you find me here?” Damon snapped.

Trailing Jasper’s gaze, I could tell he was making a conscious effort not to look at Damon’s bulge. Damn it! I had never been so embarrassed.
“Your scent and the guards,” Jasper replied.
“What do you need me for?” Damon asked, his voice laced with irritation as he hissed loudly.
“The people want to speak with you, my King.”
“About what?”
“They prefer to discuss it with you,” Jasper answered, his face serious.
“You don’t have a clue?” Damon asked, his voice tinged with concern.
“No, my King.”
Fear began creeping into my heart at Jasper’s words. I hoped it wasn’t anything serious. What if it was an attack from rogues? What if something bad had happened?
Stop it, Aurora. Everything is under control.
After all, King Damon was a force to be reckoned with—a fire that couldn’t be easily quenched. He was a terror to his enemies, and no one dared to be on his bad side for fear of facing his wrath.
Slowly, Damon turned to leave, making sure my body wasn’t exposed to Jasper’s view.
