The daughter she had raised and the one she had cherished as if she were her own granddaughter had both become selfish, malicious, and despicable.

Noticing the expression on Kenia’s face, Belinda understood exactly what she was thinking.
So she hurried to say, “Grandma, don’t blame yourself. None of this is your fault.”
Kenia shook her head painfully, then looked at Belinda and murmured softly, “Belinda, I’m tired. I want to go back to my room and rest now.”
Belinda nodded and said, “Alright. I’ll take you upstairs.” She soon guided Kenia back to her room.
At the Wright family’s residence, Kylee had felt unsettled all day, a gnawing sense of dread pressing down on her as if something terrible were about to happen.
That dread was confirmed the moment she saw the Happer family members who had stayed in Owathe arrive at her house, along with Carola.
From the looks of things, the results of the DNA test must have already come out.
Kylee swallowed hard, forcing a smile as she asked, “What brings you all here?”
Then she looked as if a thought suddenly occurred to her. “Is it because the results of the DNA test between Mom and me are back?”
The members of the Happer family completely ignored Kylee, not even sparing her a glance, as if she were invisible. Their indifference spoke louder than words. Kylee had already guessed the result of the test. Her chest tightened, and she sighed inwardly.
The truth would not change, and there would be no miracle.
The Happer family members sat down on the couch, the room heavy with unspoken tension.
Lyle pulled a manila envelope from his coat and set it on the glass coffee table. His voice carried no warmth when he spoke. “I’ve brought the results of the DNA test. Take a look.”

Kylee reached out and picked it up. She opened the envelope and took out the paternity test report.
She skipped every preliminary page and went straight to the final line. Her breath caught.
She blinked hard and rubbed her eyes. The letters remained the same. The truth stared back at her, merciless and unmistakable. Her gaze snapped to Carola, and she feigned surprise.
“No… it can’t be. How could I not be your biological daughter? There must be a mistake. The report has to be wrong.” She pretended to be taken aback.
Carola’s mouth twisted into a cold smile. She let out a scoff sharp enough to sting. “Don’t ask me. Ask your father if there’s a mistake.”
Baker remained motionless on the sofa, his silence more damning than words.
His eyes held no surprise. He had known this all along. Carola and Kylee were not related.
