Chapter 1867:
Belinda was confused. Why would Galen want to talk to her? She tapped the answer button, a trace of wariness in her mind.
“Hello?”
“Belinda, it’s Galen, Carola’s father. Are you free now?”
A shadow crossed Belinda’s eyes at that.
After a while, she replied, “Okay. Where should we meet?”
Galen, caught off guard by her quick agreement, paused before saying, “How about Serendipity Café?”
“Alright.”
With that, Belinda hung up.
She changed her clothes and then headed straight to the café.
Upon entering the private room, she saw Galen already seated, Lyle at his side.
She walked over and sank into the sofa across from them.
“Please, order whatever you would like,” Galen said.
Belinda quickly ordered a glass of juice. After that, raising her eyes to Galen and Lyle, her expression neutral, she asked, “What is this about?”
Both men stayed quiet, their gazes locked on her, heavy with unspoken thoughts.
Belinda’s brow furrowed, impatience creeping in.
“Let’s not waste time. Why do you want to see me?”
Galen sat up straighter, his tone measured.
“This isn’t urgent, but it needs to be said properly—thank you for saving Carola’s life that day.”
Belinda’s eyes lowered briefly, her face impassive.
“You’ve already thanked me before.”
Galen nodded slowly.
“We have, but…” His voice grew rough.
“It was my daughter’s life you saved. Words can’t express our gratitude. Belinda, our family will always remember what you did.”

Belinda’s expression remained unchanged.
“Is that all?”
After a careful pause, Galen met her gaze.
“I also owe you an apology.”
“An apology?” Belinda was puzzled.
“Yes, an apology,” Galen said with a slow nod, exhaling heavily.
“For dragging you into that situation with Kylee back then, even threatening you.”
The mention of the matter stirred something in Belinda, her thoughts turning complicated.
After a moment, her lips curved slightly—not quite a smile.
“Of course you would choose your own granddaughter over me. It’s only natural. There’s no need to apologize for that. It didn’t hurt me anyway.”
Galen’s eyes deepened, an unreadable emotion flickering in them as he watched her. Words seemed to catch in his throat, heavy and unsaid.
